Modern Sales Leadership for Southeast Asia Interview with Michael Kawula Episode 39

Modern leadership for Southeast Asia requires a balance between Asia’s unique cultural emphasis on hierarchy positioning and incorporating international best practices.

As leaders, and more importantly modern day leaders, it’s important to understand that the role of a leader has changed from it’s once top down domineering approach to a more inspirational and approachable point of view.

For CMOs (Chief Marketing Officers) or CEOs, the role of leadership has become more of a narrative to understand and become more customer centric in their approach to developing prospects to consumers.

In this latest podcast, I interview entrepreneur, speaker, coach and author Michael Kawula on leadership, but also taking a look at sales and the way lead generation programs have adapted to this new age digital environment.

Mistakes in developing lead generation programs

Michael was asked this question and he brought it back to its core, understanding thoroughly who your customer is and seeing that customer journey along the way.

A great way to understand your customers is to find their associations. For example, if you’re a boutique luxury resort, understand who your customers are and understand what kind of media or brands that they associate it with. Once you understand that, you can begin to craft tactical messages and even tactical collaboration in order to develop ‘quick wins’ towards sales, but also reinforce your brand positioning.

Luxury products typically do this through associating their brand positioning with a counterpart from another sector for example, Aston Martin Tag Heuer.
